Portrait Photography
Interesting portraits are a collaboration between the photographer and you. Introverted or extroverted — the camera doesn't care. Being comfortable with your image can make you feel confident and assured. Receiving a portrait that you're happy to share with others: a version of you that people want to get to know.
How It Works
We'll talk through the idea first — one you've brought, or one I put to you, often drawing on surrealism, constructed images, or a nod to Renaissance painting — then plan the look together: the location, the light, what you're wearing, and the background, whether that's a studio backdrop, somewhere on location, or outdoors. When I arrive, I'll need a little time to get the equipment set up, and I like to have a coffee and a quick chat to confirm what we're doing, so we're both clear on the plan. On the day, we build the shot together rather than rush through poses — if something's not working, we change it there and then.
In a studio setting or on location, somewhere important to you or your role. The session is based on photography time of two hours or four hours, and we can choose a few different locations. Bring your own outfits and props for a few different looks, and a range of poses, so the images show a bit more of your personality and character.
